In North America Bekaert is present since the 1950s. The real expansion starts in the 1970s with the success of steel cord. Today, we have more than 20 plants and sales offices in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Bekaert’s answer to the difficult market conditions in this region is market oriented innovation: our steel cord plants for example are offering high-tensile, lighter steel cord with finer filaments. Also in the wire business we are tackling the challenges by focusing on interesting new products like tailor-made flat and shaped wires, guide rail cables or Bezinal® coated fencing.
In dialog with our customers, we work constantly on developing and implementing the best solutions to their needs. Key words of our way of doing business are efficiency, great flexibility, just-in-time delivery and close cooperation.
