16 February 2007  Bekaert continues share buy back

Under the authority vested by the General Meeting of Shareholders in the Board of Directors, 557 000 Bekaert shares were repurchased (at an average share price of € 90.17) and subsequently cancelled end 2006 (576 550 shares in 2005). Bekaert intends further to optimize its debt structure in this way in 2007.

As of 1 January 2007 the share capital of € 173 300 000 is represented by 20 946 779 shares.
