Bekaert showcases latest advances in rotatable magnetron technology at SVC TechCon 2010
The bright combination of rotatable sputter targets and hardware
Deinze, Belgium - February 18, 2010 - Bekaert Advanced Coatings will showcase its latest range of rotatable sputtering solutions at the 53rd Annual SVC Technical Conference taking place in Orlando, Florida from 17 to 22 April, 2010 at booth 308/310. By demonstrating its latest sputter hardware solutions and growing range of sputter targets, the company will explain how its technology lowers the total cost of ownership of thin-film manufacturing.
Bekaert is a pioneer in rotating magnetron technology and has worked closely with its customers over the past 15 years to help them transition from planar sputtering technology to rotatable sputtering technology. Today, Bekaert offers customized solutions for all physical vapor deposition (PVD) applications including Large Area Glass Coatings (LAGC), coatings for photovoltaic (PV) cells - both thin-film and c-Si - and other applications like webcoating.
Vast experience guarantee
“We’ve built on experience gained in both the automotive and architectural markets and are now applying the same proven technology to the photovoltaic industry,” says Koen Staelens, Product Market Manager at Bekaert Sputter Products. “The fact that the high quality rotatable targets are perfectly aligned with the innovative sputter hardware generates additional value in our customers' coating process. This is what makes us unique in being able to offer our clients the complete solution.” adds Koen Staelens. “To our clients, we're a one-stop-supplier offering a full range of compatible components for both new and existing coating lines. This gives them the assurance of continuous reliable operation and accurate process control.”
Bekaert's partnership offering
Bekaert’s market-driven R&D and application engineering teams also work in close partnership with each customer to ensure their specific, individual needs are met.
To help SVC TechCon visitors gain an in-depth understanding of Bekaert's latest innovations – and how they’re being used in a range of PVD applications – the company will offer a detailed presentation on its booth 308/310, e.g. its Compact End Block and new Magnet Bar, both renowned for their reliability, solid and robust design and outstanding performance. Other elements of Bekaert’s extended offering on rotatable sputter targets will also be displayed, including the one-piece AZO rotatable target that was successfully introduced recently.
On April 20 and 21, the Bekaert team will present a hands-on insight into the technology with a special focus on how rotatable magnetrons are boosting the performance and how this technology plays a key role in helping thin-film PV manufacturers meet the growing demand for high volume production, better cell performance and the race to reach grid parity. There will be plenty of opportunity for visitors to interact with the Bekaert team to discuss any questions they may have.
The SVC TechCon 2010 takes place at the Marriot Orlando World Trade Center, Orlando, Florida from April 17 to 22. Recognized as the premier event of the year for the vacuum coating community, the SVC TechCon draws engineers, manufacturers, technologists, scientists and business professionals from around the world. It is the perfect opportunity to network with peers in industry and to learn about the latest market trends and innovations.
