Mechanical Design Engineer

Bekaert 's engineering department develops, designs, and builds Bekaert's specific process equipment and takes care of the after-service of this equipment worldwide. This way the engineering department supports Bekaert's global strategy of technological leadership. Furthermore it creates a competitive advantage through the use of mechatronics. Mechatronics integrates mechanical design, control technology, electronics and micro-electronics. The engineering department thus performs three strategic functions: innovation, providing process equipment, and support.

Your Role

1. Use appropriate engineering documents (Drawings, BOM’s, Design & Process FMEA’s, Engineering data, & Work Instructions) to ensure parts and drawings represent functional features, components and assemblies.

2. Solve mechanical problem related to parts machining & machine assembly process.

3. Analyze machine failures and improve the design continuously.

4. Assist to provide feasible study on new machines and new projects

5. Customer consultation on machine related mechanical questions.

6. Feasible localization study on critical and important parts;

7. Assist to select the subcontractor sourcing.

Your Profile

-Broad knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures (sketching, drawing design, tolerance stack calculation, force calculation, test method, measurement and test equipment, writing test procedure, using standard engineering analysis technique, etc.) and other internal engineering standard and system.
-Knowledge of CAD/CAE, SAP and other related engineering software.
-Knowledge of mechanical machiningKnowledgeable in mechanical and/or electrical requirements related to area of responsibility.
- Proactive and self motivating.
-Very good English communication skills are necessary.
-B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
-Approximately 3 years mechanical design experience is necessary.
