Materials Lab Engineer Bekaert Technology Center
The Labs department develops and performs a wide variety of tests to characterize materials and products, from the Research and Development phase until implementation in and support towards Production and Sales.
Your Role
The role of the engineer in the material lab is:
- Analyzing samples concerning metallographic analysis; in depth analysis of customers' requests concerning products from steelcord and wires, providing professional reports and advices for failure analysis.
- Discussion of the results with direct colleagues in the labs, and with internal and external Bekaert customers.
- Development of measurement methods and analysis expertise.
- Coaching junior metallographic technicians, coordinating the work.
Your Profile
- Open to entry level candidates at Masters level but having industry experience after Bachelors. Background materials/metals.
- Open to entry level candidates at Bachelors level preferably having industry. Background materials/metals.
- You have knowledge of materials, heat treatments and failure analysis. Experience in microscopy
- You are able to work independently
- You are willing to take initiative, and able to work under pressure
- You have good computer application skills and your level of English is good.
- You have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
- You are willing to relocate
- Experience in the wire industry is an advantage
