Drewsen Spezialpapiere chooses Bekaert paper dryer to modernize its machinery
Summary & download
German specialty papermaker DREWSEN Spezialpapiere has installed BEKAERT UniDryer V2 at the PM 5 at its sole site in Lachendorf, in the north of the country. The UniDryer was installed in December 2010 after the new film press delivered by PAMA Papiermaschinen.
BEKAERT UniDryer V2 technology was chosen because of excellent energy efficiency performance and because of the compact solution. UniDryer V2 is utilizing both convectional heat transfer and infra-red radiation heat transfer. This gives the good possibilities of adjusting the drying process in order to secure the best quality of the coated paper.
DREWSEN runs three paper machines with a total capacity of approximately 160,000 tons/yr at the Lachendorf facility. PMs 1 and 2 specialize in security and envelope paper. The 4.8 m wide PM 5 produces 75,000 ton/yr of specialty uncoated woodfree paper.
