Sintered and unsintered metal fiber non-wovens on basis of an AISI 47… alloy.  Thanks to well balanced combinations of fiber weight, fiber diameter and porosity, those filter media can achieve mass efficiencies in between 30% up to 90%. Because of the availability of cleaner engines (pre-EURO VI), a lower mass efficiency (<90%)  filter can do the job.
