At this year's edition of Drupa, Bekaert will highlight our latest innovations in binding solutions. To keep pace with the market’s changing needs, Bekaert has created new possibilities to customize wire binding products, while simultaneously making them greener and eligible for certification.
Supporting your creativity
Bekaert’s expertise builds on more than 50 years of creating coated wires for bound stationery. To meet any requirement, Bekaert offers no less than four specialized coated wires: Metalobind®, Nylobind®, Tinobind® and Ecobind®, all of which are available in an extensive color palette.
Now, Bekaert also offers the possibility to combine two colors on one wire. Bekaert’s combined colors wire is a brand-new and unique polymer-coated wire with ink dots printed on the surface. To accommodate any design, this wire is available in a wide range of colors and can be printed with any color to match.
Ecobind® continues to gain a lot of support as an eco-friendly alternative to wires with a petro-chemical coating. The range has recently been expanded to more color options which ensures that Ecobind® is now more than just green: it also offers customers the freedom to explore a broad spectrum of design possibilities.
Contributing to greener and certified products
In these times, when we must safeguard our planet’s resources, more companies discover Ecobind® as a valuable component to produce 100% environmentally friendly bound stationery. Format Werk, Austria’s largest producer of stationery for schools and offices, was one of the first companies that saw the benefit of using Ecobind®. Recently, they received the renowned eco-label, Blue Angel certificate, for the complete notebooks in their standard ranges Formati, Format-X and Ursus Green, while in the past they were only eligible for their jackets and cover sheet paper.
“Active environmental protection has long since become an indispensable attention point for consumers and businesses. Format Werk wants to belong to those companies by striving to use sustainable and high quality raw materials that are managed in a responsible way,” states Mr. Thomas Riemer, Managing Director of Format Werk. “The combination of our paper products and Ecobind® is a positive example of how sharing expertise can help achieve these goals. Having a partner like Bekaert is crucial. It has the same environmental awareness and motivation as Format Werk to continuously improve products while keeping an eye on nature.”
