In new and growing markets such as Asia, Bekaert is concentrating on building a position in the advanced wire products we are universally famous for. This includes steel cord for strengthening tyres and steel fibre for reinforcing concrete.
In Western Europe and North America, our goal is to become leaders in our niche markets: champagne cork wire, bookbinding wire, rotatable sputter targets (used for the application of coatings to glass) and diamond-like coatings (used on engine components of Formula One and NASCAR cars).
