Canvasses

Bekaert has developed the Fleximat® metal weft which can be used in side-curtains for lorries, to give additional protection against damage, during transport, loading and unloading, so it gives a longer lifespan. The steel reinforced canvasses give also protection against occasional robbery.
The canvasses are containing a steel cord metal weft that can be coated with different kinds of polymers. According to the strength needed, different kinds of cords can be used. New applications can be developed with (potential) customers.

Another application of canvasses are architectural fabrics. Tents or roofs can be constructed with coated metal wefts, for security or reinforcement purposes.

When Industrial doors are used at the exterior of buildings, they need to give security to intruders, and stand wind pressure. That’s why Bekaert developed a woven cord fabrics that can be used in the transparent curtains that secures it and reinforced the curtain to resist wind pressure more effectively.
