Bekaert produces cables as a carrier for diamond impregnated beads. The beads are fixed at a regular distance on the cable by means of rubber or polyurethane. This assembly is then used for the slicing of stones in quarries (block extraction) on single wire mobile sawing equipment or for the slabbing of stone blocks on stationary multi-cable saws.
