The European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM) has granted the 2013 EIPM Peter Kraljic
Excellence Award for “Value Creation – Extended Enterprise” to Bekaert during the 2013 annual EIPM
Purchasing Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Annual EIPM Peter Kraljic Awards recognize the excellence of Purchasing Organizations that act as role
models, delivering outstanding performance to their company and demonstrating high level of creativity,
innovation, and respect for the environment and society.
The rigorous nomination process is founded on the fact-based criteria EFQM Excellence Model and
complemented by EIPM best practices. The whole process is managed by the Awards Jury, comprised of
industry leaders, academics and consultants experts in the field.

improvement towards Purchasing Excellence. Winning this award the second year in a row is a recognition
for the improvements achieved since last year.”

EIPM (www.EIPM.org) was established in December 1990 by top leading companies - Alcatel, Aérospatiale, Amae, Bull, Cerestar
(Ferruzzi), Herberts (Hoechst), Nokia, Pechiney, Philips, Renault - and sponsored by the European Commission, the Rhône Alpes
Region and the Haute Savoie department to create an European Executive Education and Training Center in Purchasing Education.
The purpose of the EIPM Awards is to recognize procurement organizations that could act as role models for others in delivering
outstanding performance to their company; demonstrating high levels of creativity and innovation; implementing and deploying
advanced and efficient processes; actively developing suppliers; environmental and social responsibility.
