Bekaert Solaronics has recently installed a new infrared/air drying system on PM4 at Melitta Neukölln Spezialpaper GmbH, Berlin, Germany.

The new configuration consists of Voith metering size press following by Bekaert Solaronics Unidryer V2 equipped with 100% ceramic gas emitters Gem9 which provide high power and excellent lifetime for paper drying.

The objective of the project was to allow the production of wall paper grades as well as filter paper with the best printing quality and minimized operating costs.

Melitta was founded in Dresden in 1908 and is today an internationally operating family-owned company based in Minden, Germany.
The Melitta group develop, produce, and market products for the household and food service sectors under the brand names Melitta® (Coffee Enjoyment) and Cilia® (Tea enjoyment), Toppits®, Albal®, Glad® (Freshness and Flavour) as well as Swirl® and handy bag® (Convenient Cleaning).
The encouraging progress of the specialist paper business has led Melitta to begin the modernization work on its Berlin-based paper plant during the years 2011-2012. Melitta Neukölln Spezialpaper is now a formed paper mill, sister company of New Kaliss Special paper.
The Melitta Group invested 20 million euros in its paper mill in the Neukölln district of Berlin. Production is mainly non-woven wallpaper and filter paper to answer peak demand of Melitta Household Products Europe and Melitta USA.
