Inside Bekaert's TechCampus - The Hydrogen Innovation Hub

Green hydrogen is essential to decarbonize energy‑intensive industries, yet today its large‑scale adoption is challenged by cost. The levelized cost of hydrogen—driven by both capex and opex costs—remains the main barrier to making green hydrogen competitive and widely deployable.

This is where the Hydrogen Innovation Hub comes in. It has been designed to accelerate innovation around the Porous Transport Layer (PTL), a key component for the production of green hydrogen. In close collaboration with customers, research institutions, and universities worldwide, the hub's work focuses on reducing material use, improving efficiency, and speeding up the product validation process. Working closely with customers, research institutions, and universities worldwide, it enables faster development, testing, and iteration cycles.

In this video, Danny Meekers, Head of Product Hydrogen, and Andries Krüger, Head of Technology Filtration & Hydrogen, share how the hub works, the insights gained from deep application testing, and why collaboration is key to scaling cost‑effective green hydrogen.
