IP Gruppo API to commission 4MW electrolyzer at SARPOM refinery
IP Gruppo API is set to commission a 4MW PEM electrolyser at the SARPOM refinery in Trecate, Italy. This project, funded by the Piedmont Region, aims to produce 167 metric tons of green hydrogen annually using renewable energy from on-site photovoltaic fields. The green hydrogen will replace a portion of the non-renewable hydrogen currently used in refining processes, contributing to the decarbonization of the refinery.

Hy2gen secures €47M to advance 2GW hydrogen portfolio
€47 million was raised from existing shareholders at Hy2gen to accelerate its portfolio of renewable hydrogen and derivatives projects across Europe, Canada, and South America. The funding will support the development of green hydrogen, green ammonia, and e-fuels production plants, with a total installed electrolysis capacity of 2GW. These projects aim to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping, aviation, and chemicals.

Operations at 10MW green hydrogen plant begin in Austria
OMV has started operations at Austria's largest green hydrogen plant, a 10MW facility at the Schwechat refinery near Vienna. The plant, powered by renewable energy, will produce up to 1,500 metric tons of green hydrogen annually. This green hydrogen will be used to produce sustainable fuels and chemicals, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 15,000 metric tons per year.
