Europe's largest green hydorgen project launches at BASF site

BASF has commissioned Europe's largest green hydrogen project at its Ludwigshafen site in Germany. The 54MW PEM electrolyser, supplied by Siemens Energy, will produce 8,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, primarily to replace grey hydrogen used in ammonia, methanol, and vitamin production. This project, supported by €124.3 million in funding, aims to decarbonize BASF's operations and support hydrogen-powered transport in the Rhine-Neckar region.
