ArcelorMittal halts hydrogen-based steel plans in Germany

ArcelorMittal has suspended its €1.3 billion hydrogen-based Direct Reduced Iron and Electric Arc Furnace projects in Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt, citing uncompetitive energy prices and lack of regulatory clarity. The company declined €1 billion in government support amid long-term economic concerns.

TES and CPC Finland to develop 500 MW e-NG project

TES and CPC Finland have formed Luoto Energia Oy to construct a 500 MW e-NG facility at the Port of Rauma. Expected to produce 60,000 tons of green hydrogen annually and convert it into 125,000 tons of electric natural gas, the project aims to support industrial decarbonization by 2028.
