Hydrogen Europe & Belgian Hydrogen Council at Bekaert

On September 20, we had a visit of Hydrogen Europe and the Belgian Hydrogen Council at Bekaert and this led to three things:

1. Vivid exchanges on Energy Transition, Cleantech Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen in Belgium and Europe within a global context.

2. Jointly agreeing on the vital importance of building and securing a resilient electrolyser value chain in Europe, up to the level of critical components and subassemblies such as our Currento® porous transport layer and MEA product offering.

3. A firm belief that the ingredients and chefs are there to start cooking, looking to serve their innovative recipes at large scale, supported by fast and simple enabling policies.

Here at Bekaert, we are deeply invested in the energy transition, actively contributing to a sustainable and greener future. Our efforts in Belgium are particularly noteworthy as we continue to invest in cleantech manufacturing with significant global impact for multiple electrolyser technologies (PEM, AEM, MEA).


We are truly inspired and empowered by Hydrogen Europe’s and the Belgian Hydrogen Council’s joint visit to Bekaert and their endorsement of the vital ingredients we bring to crack the code to electrolyser and green hydrogen uptake in Europe.
