PT Bekaert Indonesia (PTBI), Bekaert's manufacturing plant in Indonesia, celebrated today the inauguration of its Garuda 5 expansion and the plant's 20th anniversary. The ceremony took place in the presence of HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium, who is presiding over the Belgian Economic Mission to Indonesia, and Bert De Graeve, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bekaert. The celebration was attended by Belgian and Indonesian governmental, diplomatic and business association representatives, and by customers and other business partners of Bekaert in Indonesia.
Bert De Graeve, Chairman of the Board of Directors stated: "The visit of HRH Princess Astrid and the Belgian and Indonesian Government representatives is a great honor to Bekaert, to our customers and other guests, and to all employees of PT Bekaert Indonesia. During its 20 years of history, the plant in Karawang has strongly contributed to the growth of the automotive and construction markets in Indonesia and the South East Asian region. PT Bekaert Indonesia has also become an important contributor to the success of the Bekaert Group. The 1 000-strong team of our Karawang plant shares my honor in hosting our esteemed guests today."
