Subsea

Heavy galvanized steel armouring wire is a critical component in the construction of subsea power cables, designed to deliver outstanding mechanical protection and durability in some of the world’s most demanding offshore environments. Engineered for strength and flexibility, this wire plays a vital role in safeguarding cables from physical stress and environmental hazards both during installation and throughout their operational lifespan on the ocean floor.

Our armouring wire is standardized to meet the rigorous requirements of offshore applications, including power transmission, telecommunications, and subsea data cable systems. Whether deployed in shallow waters or deep-sea conditions, these wires form a robust barrier against crushing forces, abrasion, impact, and dynamic tension caused by currents, waves, or vessel movements.

To enhance long-term performance, we apply advanced Bezinal® coatings—our proprietary blend of zinc and aluminum—which significantly improve corrosion resistance compared to traditional galvanization methods. This protective layer ensures extended service life, even in salt-laden and highly corrosive marine environments. For additional protection, a polymer sheathing can be added to further defend against chemical exposure and mechanical wear.

Our armouring wire is available in both round and flat configurations and can be manufactured in various strength grades to accommodate a wide range of engineering requirements. This flexibility allows cable designers and system integrators to tailor their cable designs to specific installation conditions and mechanical load profiles, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in any subsea deployment.
