Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a common phenomenon in daily life. Everyone has experienced ESD when receiving a small electrical shock after touching a metal item that is electrically isolated from the ground. It is caused by the difference in electrical charge between an electrically loaded item and the ground.
Beki-Shield® is a stainless steel filler material used in plastic compounds to provide electrically conductive properties. It is frequently used in castor wheels and flooring applications to provide excellent electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

Beki-Shield® will enable you to have electrically conductive plastics in combination with colors and non-marking surfaces. It can be used as a masterbatch and has been designed for easy dispersion into the polymer matrix for both injection molding (dry blend) and compounding.

Due to our extensive choice of different coatings and sizing, our Beki-Shield® grains are compatible with a large variety of different base polymers. Beki-Shield® is also available in continuous bundles.


High conductivity at low load levels

Beki-Shield® achieves high levels of electrical conductivity (0.1 – 0.5 Ωcm) at very low load levels to prevent static build-up in plastic and rubber compounds.

Compatible with any color additive

Beki-Shield® has virtually no effect on the coloring of the compound, allowing the application of almost any color.

High surface durability

Beki-Shield® creates a conductive matrix throughout the compound, resulting in durable, long-lasting electrical conductivity and a surface which is non-marking and non-sloughing.

Low impact on mechanical properties

Low impact on physical plastic properties (e.g.: IZOD impact strength)
